Frozen Chocolate Banana Popsicles
You only need 5 ingredients to make these refreshing chocolate banana popsicles! Perfect for a fun and refreshing dessert that’s nutritious too. (vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free option)

This recipe is one of those that is so ridiculously simple, I hesitate to even call it a recipe. But they have been such a hit with my family that I can’t help but share them with you.
I mean, you can’t go wrong with the flavor combination of chocolate. peanut butter and banana. Add in popsicle sticks and sprinkles and you’ve got yourself a super fun, whole-food-dessert that’s perfect for a hot summer evening!

Frozen Chocolate Banana Popsicle Ingredients
- Bananas– Make sure your bananas are ripe but still firm to the touch for the best texture and flavor. Also, longer bananas will be easier to use with the popsicle sticks.
- Dark Chocolate– You’ll need dark chocolate to keep the recipe dairy-free. Whether you want to use a chocolate bar or chocolate chips is totally up to you.
- Peanut Butter– I love to use crunchy peanut butter for the added texture but feel free to use whatever you prefer. If you don’t like peanut butter, any kind of nut butter will work. Tahini or sunflower butter make good nut-free alternatives.
- Sprinkles– Totally optional but obviously great for enticing kiddos. Feel free to substitute chopped nuts, dried fruit, or whatever you think you might enjoy!
- Popsicle Sticks– I’ve found 6-inch popsicle sticks work best for banana pops.

How to Make Frozen Chocolate Banana Popsicles
- Prepare the bananas. Peel the bananas then slice each one in half. Gently push the popsicle sticks into the center of each banana and set aside on a lined baking sheet.
- Melt the chocolate and peanut butter together. I like to use a double broiler method by combining the chocolate chips and peanut butter in a glass bowl then placing it inside of a large skillet filled with a few inches of water. Bring to a low simmer and stir together until the chocolate is melted and well combined with the peanut butter.
- Coat the bananas. Dip each banana into the chocolate mixture (or a spoon to coat them) until evenly coated on all sides. Transfer to the baking sheet and coat with sprinkles.
- Freeze the bananas. Place the chocolate coated bananas in the freezer for 2-3 hours, until frozen solid.
- Serve and enjoy! Depending on how hot your environment is, you can enjoy them immediately or give them a few minutes to soften before eating. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
