What I Ate Wednesday {My First Time}

I’ve known about WIAW since before I even started my blog but I chose not to participate because I just knew I would bore the bajeezus out of everyone with my predictable eats.

I kind of get set in my ways when it comes to breakfasts and snacks so it would pretty much be a repeat of the same thing, every.single.Wednesday. I should probably take that as a sign that I need to switch things up.

Anyway, I have actually had a few readers inquire about what a day of eats looks like for me so I decided to take the opportunity to finally link up with WIAW to show you peeps what I ate! Thanks to Jenn and the cutie-patootie chickpea for hosting!

I found it easiest to write this as ‘day in the life of style’ post so you can see when I eat what I eat as I eat before I eat. Wha?

6:30am: Alarm goes off, hit snooze and dream about getting paid to sleep for a living. Roll out of bed fifteen minutes later, get dressed, rinse my face and try to make myself look halfway presentable in ten minutes.

For breakfast, I throw a Food for Life Sprouted Grain Cinnamon Raisin English Muffin in the toaster while putting my lunch together. Then I top the English muffin with Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter {insanely addicted} and shove half of it down with a tall glass of water then store the other half in a container for an afternoon snack.

7:15am: Hit the road and enjoy my 45-minute commute to work. Rush to clock-in, unload my bags and start my first patient. If I’m lucky that day, I’ll get fifteen minutes to sit down after my first patient to enjoy a yogurt.

I usually stick with Greek yogurt but Smári Icelandic yogurt has been on sale recently. It’s thick like Greek yogurt, has a short ingredient list and is low in sugar and high in protein so it fits the bill. I top it with a little chia seed granola to soften the tangy flavor.

11:00am: I have another short break to slice a pink lady apple. I scarf it down to hold me over until lunch.

12:30pm: I eat lunch at my desk while trying to work on my next blog post. There are usually some kind of leftovers for lunch and today it’s lentil sloppy joes (recipe coming soon!) with a side of mashed butternut squash.

I almost always bring unsweetened iced green tea and water to drink.

Yes, the walls in my work space are bright yellow. I think they’re trying to compensate for the lack of windows. It’s not working. Save me!

2:00pm: I get a craving for something sweet and decide to try one of the Dark Chocolate Sunflower Butter Cups sent to me by Sun Cups.

Suncups

I’m pleasantly surprised with them. They’re a little less salty than peanut butter cups but still delicious and satisfying. I love that they’re offering a natural alternative for people with peanut allergies too, like Amanda.

4:30pm: I eat the second half of my English muffin then leave work and head straight to the gym. It takes me about 30 minutes to get there and I eat a banana on the way so that I have plenty of energy for Body Pump.

6:30pm: Feeling exhausted and ready for dinner, I leave the gym and drive home. About 30 minutes later, I come home to my stinky girl and my handsome man. We eat reheated stuffed veggie loaf {from the freezer that I defrosted overnight} with roasted zucchini and a sweet potato on the side.

9:00pm: I finish my post for the day and hit publish. I try to visit a couple of other blogs, prepare my lunch for tomorrow and treat myself to a glass of milk and one of my favorite cookies.

10:00pm: I floss, brush my teeth and take a shower. I check my email or peruse Pinterest before shutting out the lights around 11:00pm. Then it’s sleep and repeat!

Are you still with me? Hopefully I didn’t bore you too badly.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday! If you’re not in the U.S. then I hope you have a happy Thursday! :)

Do you eat a lot of the same breakfasts and snacks every day?

Do you know anyone with peanut allergies?
