May Favorites

Now that May has come and gone I’m excited for all things summer. Swimming in the lake, afternoon picnics with cold bottles of wine, grilling kebabs, making s’mores, eating everything watermelon; there’s just so much to love about this time of year!

I don’t have any travel plans until the end of the month so I’ll be working on getting back to my regular routine and hopefully participating in said aforementioned activities at some point.

In the meantime, here’s a round-up of some of my favorite recent finds. I hope you see something you like and that you have a wonderful weekend!

Favorite Drink: Minty Watermelon Cucumber Margaritas. Would it be okay if I did a swan dive right into the top of that glass? Holy YUM.

Favorite Burger: Bloody Mary Veggie Burgers. Summertime ain’t summertime without a good burger. I’m loving all of the tomato flavor in these and the kale slaw that Laura paired them with. It’s a hunk of burning love!

Favorite Side: Fruit Salad with Lemon Coconut Whipped Cream. The fruit salad to end all fruit salads. Just thinking about how it tastes is making me feel all cool and refreshed. Mmm…

Favorite Zoodle: Pad Thai Zucchini Noodle Quinoa Salad. Such a brilliant way to use zucchini noodles! I love the addition of quinoa for protein too.

Favorite Book: Eleanor & Park. I picked up a copy of this book from Powell’s when we were in Portland last month. I didn’t start reading it until last week and am only about a quarter of the way through, but I’m really enjoying it so far. The author has a great sense of humor!

Favorite Skirt: Stripe Seaside Maxi. I’m a huge fan of maxi skirts for warm weather. They’re light, super comfortable, and cute enough to transition from daytime to evening. I just got this one on sale from Athleta and I know I’m going to get a lot of good use out of it this summer!

Favorite Tote: florabella Odessa Bag. I love this bag but unfortunately the price tag doesn’t love me. Hopefully it goes on sale one day soon!

Favorite Hair Product: Unite Shampoo. Finding a good shampoo that’s cruelty-free, sulfate-free and paraben-free is not an easy task. Trust me, I know. I’ve tried a ton. I was hesitant when my stylist recommended this one but I’ve been using it for a couple months now and it’s awesome. I’m definitely going to repurchase it when I run out. If you like a volumizing shampoo, I highly recommend giving this one a try!

Favorite Face Saver: Andalou Naturals Daily Defense Facial Lotion. I’ve been obsessed with this brand’s body lotion for a while now so I decided to branch out and try their face lotion too. It’s moisturizing without feeling greasy and I like that it has sunscreen in it for anti-aging purposes. Two thumbs up!

Favorite Dessert: Peanut Butter & Banana Ice Cream Sandwiches. No-bake peanut butter cookies slathered with vegan banana ice cream. Seriously.
