March Favorites | Making Thyme for Health

Spring has finally sprung! The trees here are starting to turn green with little buds and I couldn’t be more excited about it.

I’m also pumped that the farmers market returns this weekend. We have plans to wake up early and go get some fresh goodies before heading to a local animal sanctuary to volunteer. That’s like a dream day for me. I can hardly wait.

I hope April holds something fun in store for you all as well. In the meantime, kick back and enjoy a round up of my favorite recent finds!


Favorite Beverage: Morning Mint Matcha Milkshake. Mint and matcha are both super energizing and I bet they taste delicious in this creamy milkshake. All I need is an ice cube tray and then these are definitely happening!


Favorite Breakfast: Vegan French Toast. Have you ever seen a sexier stack of carbs in your entire life? Hot damn. I’m thinking all of those fresh strawberries that are in season right now need to find there way to some french toast very soon!


Favorite Cookware: Lodge Cast Iron Reversible Grill/Griddle. Speaking of french toast, we lost our electric griddle during the move so I decided to replace it with this cast iron version last month. Best decision EVER. It comes preseasoned which means it’s already non-stick but without the nasty chemicals. I can’t recommend it enough!


Favorite Show: Big Little Lies. Have you guys seen this show yet? It is so freaking good! I read the book that it’s based on but I actually like the show better. Never thought I would say that. I’m sad that this weekend is the last episode. :(


Favorite Shower: 21 Refreshingly Beautiful Outdoor Showers. I’ve always dreamt of having an outdoor shower, especially for the warm days of spring and summer. The fresh air, the sunshine, the calm of the running water…sigh. I think this setup would work just fine! ;)


Favorite Sandwich: Springy Tofu Salad Sandwich. Such a brilliant idea to use crumbled tofu to make a plant-based version of egg salad. I can’t wait to try it!


Favorite Salad: Balsamic Spring Vegetable Salad. So many delicious tangy springy flavors in this bowl. I want to dive in, mouth first!


Favorite Instagram: Erin Ireland. Her smart puppy. Her adorable baby. Her drool-worthy food. Her awesome personality. I just love everything about this lady. #fangirl


Favorite Wanderlust: Maldives. Why does it have to be so damn expensive to travel to the Maldives? Ugh. Having a paradise as pristine as that practically all to yourself sounds so dreamy. Calgon take me away!


Favorite Meal: Baked Green Pea Fritters. Oh the wonders of chickpea flour. These are made with really simple ingredients and they sound like a perfect meal for springtime.


Favorite Meatless Makeover: Chickpea Chorizo Tostadas with Avocado Crema. So I’ve never had chorizo but I’m perfectly fine with letting this chickpea chorizo be my first experience with it. All of the spices sound so delicious and I love how the avocado crema balances everything out.


Favorite Dessert: Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Chickpea Bars. I’m still trying to convince myself that these are even real. They’re made entirely from chickpeas- no grains or flour. MIND BLOWN.
