Friday Favorites
Happy Friday! I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done a Friday Favorites post and that’s probably because it has been.
Believe it or not, they can actually be more time consuming for me to put together than a recipe post so I guess they just kind of fell to the wayside for a while. I’m hoping to set aside more time to bring them back into the regular rotation because I just love chatting with you guys about stuff. :)
So we have a few fun things planned this weekend because a certain someone is going to be 31 on Sunday! Okay, it’s me. I’m going to be 31. Seriously, where did the last year go?
I hope you guys have a few fun things on the agenda too! In the meantime, sit back, relax and enjoy a round-up of my favorite recent finds.
****************************************************************************
Favorite Pumpkin Treat: Healthy 10 Minute Pumpkin Cheesecake Parfait. I’m not usually a fan of cheesecake but for some reason I LOVE pumpkin cheesecake. These look like the perfect quick and healthy way to enjoy that delicious combination!
Favorite Meatball: Eggplant Meatballs with Za’atar and Kale Pesto. This desperately needs to happen in my kitchen before eggplant season ends!
Favorite Mug Roll: Paleo Cinnamon Roll in a Mug. You guys won’t believe the ingredient list for this! I may never eat a regular cinnamon roll again.
Favorite Body Soap: Dr. Bronner’s Rose Pure-Castile Soap. I’ve been experimenting with different natural body soaps for a few years now and this one has been my favorite so far. It has a light rose scent, a simple ingredient list and it’s only $10 for a huge bottle that feels like it lasts forever.
Favorite Bedtime Ritual: DIY Lavender Linen Spray. I just made a new rule that I’m not allowed to bring any electronics in bed with me at night because the stimulation was becoming way too much for me to be able to fall asleep. So now my new routine is to spritz the sheets with lavender spray and then read a book for about 20 minutes, until my eyes get tired. It seems like it’s really helping to improve my quality of sleep. Now let’s see if I can keep it up!
Favorite Workout: 40 Minute Treadmill Lower Body Workout. I’m still doing my beloved Body Pump and Body Attack three days a week but on the other days I still like to get in a little light cardio. Lately I’ve been loving incline treadmill workouts and this is a great one with a little butt work mixed in to keep your tush looking top notch. :)
Favorite Show: Fixer Upper. I like to watch HGTV while I’m doing said treadmill workouts and it’s caused me to form an addiction to Fixer Upper. It’s amazing how they are able to transform homes and I absolutely love Joanna’s taste. Plus Chip is hilarious to boot!
Favorite Wanderlust: 10 Best Trips to Take This Fall. I wanted so desperately to take a road trip to Oregon this year but it’s looking like we’re going to have to put it off until next year. I really hope we get to eventually go because I’m dying to see that part of the country!
Favorite Jacket: H&M Quilted Jacket. A quilted jacket is on my wish list for fall and I love this one from H&M!
Favorite Animal: 31 Important Pigs to Melt Your Heart. Baby pigs are the cutest thing EVER. I think I’m going to adopt one so Coco has a friend.
Favorite Soup: Vegan Corn Chowder. Oh how I love corn. Imagining how good this chowder must taste makes my heart pitter patter. It looks light yet comforting and SO delicious.
Favorite Pasta: 5-Ingredient Butternut Squash, Arugula and Goat Cheese Pasta. Simple fall pasta perfection. I can’t wait to give this one a try!
Favorite Breakfast: Zucchini Bread Baked Oatmeal. I feel like fall is the best time to make baked oatmeal. You can prep it the night before and then pop in the oven in the morning so that all you have to do is wake up, pour a warm cup of coffee and let the smell of it baking lure you in. I love that this version sneaks in a little green for breakfast too!
Favorite Potato: Dal Stuffed Sweet Potatoes. Cooking Indian food is an art that I have yet to perfect. Believe me, I’ve tried many times! I’m still working on that one but in the meantime, I’ll be enjoying David and Luises latest creation because it looks awesome!
Favorite Muffin: Flourless Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins. Because I always like to end with chocolate. These babies are grain-free, oil-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free. AND they look amazing!
That little baby piiiiiig!! I just want to smooch his fury face! Those eggplant meatballs? I die. I want all those fun foods you found…the daal stuffed sweet taters? effing genius! OH, and I’ve been to that waterfall outside of Portland – it truly is spectacular, and definitely a place to visit this fall (or any time of year)!
Thanks for loving my vegan chow, love!! Have a great weekend! xo
Happy early birthday, girl!! Have a fun time celebrating! And that cinnamon roll – you’re right, the ingredient list is mind boggling LOL.
Thanks Becky! I hope you have a nice weekend with your boys! :)
Happy birthday weekend, Sarah! Yay for you!! And I must say, I love all of your favorites. Now that we’re cooling down a bit, I will be all over the quilted fabrics, for sure. And linen spray … I used to be all about it and haven’t bought any in years. Thanks for the reminder. Have a fabulous celebration weekend! :)
Thanks Ashley! :)
Happy Happy Birthday Sarah!!! Have a fabulous weekend!! :)
Thank you so much, Melissa! I hope you have a great weekend too! :)
Chip and Joanna are the best!! And I need to make that cinnamon role…yum! I absolutely loved our girls trip to Oregon a few months ago, its a beautiful state. Happy (early) Birthday to you!! Enjoy your weekend!
Happy early birthday!! When I turned 30 this year I was told that I wasn’t “in my thirties” until I hit 31, so I guess that’s coming up soon. Crazy, haha. Hope you celebrate in style!
I want to make those pumpkin muffins too. I printed off the recipe so we’ll see if I actually get around to it.
Have a great weekend!
Nah, we’ve got until 35 before we’re officially in our 30s! ;)
Happy early birthday!!!
O I love that jacket! I totally need a new one this year!
Thanks Rebecca! I was so sad when I saw it was sold out! :/
Have you ever tried Body Step? It feels like the cooler Les Mills version of old-school aerobics. It’s great for that lower body and cardio combination.
And happy early birthday to you!! Enjoy your weekend! xoxo
I tried it once a few years ago but I wasn’t coordinated enough to keep up, haha! It was fun though! My new gym doesn’t offer it but I’d try it again if I found one that did.
Thanks for the birthday wishes and I hope you have a great weekend too! xoxo
Happy Birthday on Sunday, sweet Sarah!
Thank you!! xoxo
I want to try every single one of these recipes you shared!! Especially the pumpkin cheesecake parfait! Have a happy birthday!
Thanks Christie! :)
Happy birthday girl! I hope you have an awesome time doing whatever you have planned. :)
Thank you, Chelsea!! :)
Tomorrow is your birthday!! :D Happy Birthday, lovely lady! And please don’t ask me where the past year has gone, because I’ll be turning 31 in a little over 3 months and I honestly have no idea what happened to the last 9. Oh, and I’m seriously in love with that jacket from H&M! Fall fashion is amazing.
Happy early 31st birthday, girl! Hope you have an amazing celebration. Definitely try to make it to Oregon sometime. It is SO beautiful there.
Thank you Kelli! I hope I get to soon! :)
First, happy birthday!!!! I hope you have a wonderful day today! And yay for someone else being 31 so we can commiserate … I kid, I kid :)
Two, those pigs!!!! Oh my goodness, adorable. And yes to Fixer Upper! I want Jo and Chip to come decorate my house for me!
Sarah, I wanted to drop in to let you know how much I savor your FFs. I love all of the goodies you gather for us from travel to food to wearables (I remember you posted comfort travel shoes at one point and I looked into them right away — I am hopeless with retail awareness and tend to avoid shopping at all costs :p). The bedtime ritual… yes! I don’t even look at my email after 4 PM on most days that’s how sensitive it can get for me… we find what works, right?
I know how time consuming it is to put these features together… I feel that way about my nutrition segments too; sometimes they amount to 4x the effort of my food posts :) (that’s when you know you love what you do!) so thank you; your work is both noticed and appreciated.
