Friday Favorites
Ahh, sweet memories from our honeymoon in Maui. Take me back!
And just like that, the first week of summer is officially in the books. I don’t know about you guys but all I feel like doing right now is floating around in a pool with an ice cold drink and a floppy hat.
I definitely have to make that happen soon, along with a list of other things before summer ends. Like drinking wine in Napa, hiking in the redwoods, having a picnic, and making s’mores. There’s so much to do, I already feel like I’m running out of time!
I hope you guys are able to knock out a few fun things on your summer bucket list this weekend. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy my favorite recent finds!
*********************************************************************
Favorite Summer Reading: In the Unlikely Event + All the Light We Cannot See. I have been waiting for what feels like forever for Judy Blume to release a new book and it’s finally here! She’s one of my favorite authors of all time. I’ll be digging into both of these this summer!
Favorite Spot to Relax: Macramé Hammock. And I would be perfectly fine reading those books in this spot, please and thank you.
Favorite Bagel: Papaya Lox with Lemon Cream Cheese. I totally thought this was salmon was when I first saw it. So creative and it sounds delicious!
Favorite Drink: Limonada de Coco. This is traditional Columbian drink made from ice, coconut milk and lime juice. I think they’d go perfect with my float and my floppy hat, don’t you? ;)
Favorite Burgers: Quinoa Burgers. The ingredient list for these is pretty much perfect and they look so good. YUM.
Favorite Pesto: Super Greens Pumpkin Seed Pesto. Just a little healthy summahtime comfort food right heyah.
Favorite Cake: 27 Delicious No-Bake Ice Box Cakes. Have you tried making an ice box cake yet? They’re so easy and I think they’re perfect for summer.
Favorite Summer Sneakers: Supergas. I’m probably the least trendy person when it comes to fashion but I couldn’t help myself when I spotted these shoes. They’re versatile, super comfy, and I think they’ll be perfect for walking around all day when we travel!
Favorite Summer Vacation: Lake Tahoe. We’re going back to Tahoe, eeek! I booked a room at the end of August (when rates drop significantly) so it will be a few months but still, I can’t wait to jump in that crystal blue water!
Favorite Bath Tool: Dry Brush. I started dry brushing about a month ago and it feels amazing. I’ve already noticed a difference in my circulation and I’m hoping with time it will help some of my dimples too! (not the ones on my face, unfortunately…)
Favorite Tutorial: How to Make Stuffed Grape Leaves. Dolmas are one of my favorite Greek foods and Beth breaks down how to make them with ease. She also offers a grain-free option for paleo diets!
Favorite Trick: Secret Ingredient Meringue. You’ll never guess what they use to make this meringue! I am still in shock.
Favorite Bowl: Cherry Coconut Smoothie Bowls. I am all about the smoothie bowls right now. They feel so good to cool off with after being out in the warm sun. This cherry coconut version sounds amazing and I’m in love with the pretty pink color!
Favorite Pizza: Grilled Caprese Naan Pizza. Grilled pizza. That is all.
Favorite Muffin: Peanut Butter and Jelly Muffins. I don’t think I could be trusted with a batch of these in my house. I mean, c’mon…
You can make meringue with CHICKPEA LIQUID?!!!!! No.effing.way. I’m going to try this as soon as I have the occasion to use chickpeas. So, soon! Wow, I’m totally blown away. And now I want lemon chickpea meringue pie for breakfast.
SO excited you’re comeing to Tahoooooooooooooe!!!!! Gah! Words cannot express. I’m putting those books on my reading list and thanks a mil for loving my smoody bowl!
You have some of the BEST (and classiest, IMO) fashion, Sarah! I don’t know what you’re talking about. I always want your wardrobe when I see photos of you :) And Lake Tahoe! We may be going there for a ski trip over Christmas and I have never been. It looks absolutely gorgeous though. Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you, Becky! You give me too much credit. If you saw what I wear when I’m not taking pics for the blog you’d be embarrassed for me, lol! And that’s so awesome you might be coming to Tahoe!! It’s gorgeous in the winter. :)
Happy Friday!!! I’ve always wanted to go to Tahoe … someday, someday!
And now I’m officially thinking about vacation (even though we have nothing planned! haha). Ah well. And Maui… and pool time … and floppy hats…
I love dolmades and always buy the Frankly Fresh kind at Costco…but should try making my own!
Yay! I’m glad you’re going back to Tahoe. It’s the best. :)
When & where are you staying in August?? I’m going to Tahoe then, too!!
And those grilled pizzas, omg! YUM!
We’re going from the 22nd to the 26th and staying in Incline Village. Will you be there too?!
I’m going to be there August 22 and 23!! South Lake Tahoe…
P.S. Your reply email notification still isn’t working =/
I just deleted my old plugin and installed a new one so hopefully it’s working now. I think you might have to check a box when you comment though.
That’s so exciting that you’ll be there at the same time! We are actually staying in South Lake Tahoe on the 22nd! Maybe we can meet?! :)
Now you’ve got me daydreaming about vacation! ….which I have yet to book, but mark my words I will. And YOUUUUU need to show off your fashion more!! You look so cute. As you know, I’m all about the simple looks+comfy shoes. Happy Friday!
You are way more fashionable than I am! I’ll just look at yours instead of sharing mine. :)
Papaya is soooo freaking good, adding it on a bagel is such a smart idea! plus im still a little weird about raw/smoked salmon, so it’s a perfect alternative for me :)
I have been meaning to read All the Light We Cannot See – hopefully can get time to read it this summer
I loooved All the Light We Cannot See. If you’re into historical fiction, I just finished The Nightingale, and it was great! It also takes place in Europe during WWII. I hope I’m not repeating previous recommendations I’ve sent you here :)
I got All the Light We Cannot because you recommended it to me but you haven’t mentioned The Nightingale yet. I’ll add that one to the list too! :)
So much yumminess and prettiness in this post! I’ve been contemplating getting a hammock for my backyard – aren’t they so fun and inviting?! YAY for Tahoe, I loved when I visited there and want to get back there sometime for sure. Also, that papaya lox is so fun, and I agree, super creative! One more thing… come visit San Diego and you can float around in my pool & I’ll bring you refreshing smoothies! :)
Oh my gosh, that sounds heavenly. I’m on way!! :)
I adore Juby Blume and will be downloading that book tonight. Her book, Summer Sisters is one of my all time favorites!
Lake Tahoe looks/sounds amazing. It is on my bucket list of vacation spots and I hope to make it there in the next couple of years.
She’s one of my favorite authors too! I hope you get to make it Tahoe soon! :)
Whaaaat?! Okay that is crazy that you can make meringue with chickpea liquid – I never would have guessed that!
Also that cherry smoothie bowl looks like perfection to me too. I think they’re almost in season here – I can’t wait!
I don’t know what you’re talking about fashion, Sarah. I love your wardrobe when I see photos of you and this Lake Tahoe looks a wonderful place to spend my vacations! I’ve never been there before. Enjoy your weekend ;-)
You’re too sweet, Olivia! I hope you have a great weekend too! :)
Loving this round up Sarah! The papaya lox looks soooo tasty, I definitely need to try that. All of the recipes you’ve shared have made me so hungry right now! Love the Lake Tahoe picture too!
