Gift Guide for the Healthy Home Cook
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! With kids jingle belling and everyone telling you “be of good cheer”!
I had to Google the lyrics to that song. Apparently I’ve mumbled my way through it for the past thirty years. Anyways, gift guides!
I know there are already a billion of them floating around the web but I thought I would add to the pile in case you are still in need of a few ideas. All of these are meant for those who love to cook or maybe need a little inspiration to start. I mean eating at home more often would be a great resolution for the new year, right? It’s so much healthier and cheaper than eating out! Not that I lecture people about healthy eating or anything. :)
1. Zwilling J.A. Henckels Spirit Stainless Steel Nonstick Fry Pan $90- I bought this pan earlier in the year and I love it! It’s made with a nonstick ceramic coating that’s PTFE and PFOA-free and it’s super easy to clean.
2. Breville Compact Juice Fountain $100- this looks like the perfect gift for someone who wants to start experimenting with juicing. It’s not too big, the price tag is affordable and it has rave reviews.
3. Vitamix Professional Series 750 Blender $650- this is clearly a big ticket item (which is why I still don’t own one) but I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. If you’re looking to impress someone with a big expensive gift, this would be it.
4. Wüsthof Classic 7-Piece Knife Block Set $300- every cook needs a good set of knives! I have a much cheaper set but I would love to upgrade to these bad boys one day.
5. Oster DuraCeramic Flip Waffle Maker $32- another nonstick ceramic item! A reader actually recommended this one to me and it makes the best waffles ever. And there are already few recipes for you to try here and here. :)
6. Cuisinart 2-Speed Immersion Hand Blender $34- I used to purée my soups with a blender but I finally picked one of these up and it makes such a difference. Not only is it so much easier to use and clean but it yields an incredibly smooth texture.
7. Universal Expert Silicone Utensils $10-12- you can multitask all you want and not worry about your utensils melting. Plus they’re cute too!
8. Soapstone Kitchen Garden Windowsill Tray with 5 Organic Herb Plants $60- Fresh herbs are a great way to add flavor to food without extra calories or fat. This is a collection of organic herbs grown in cute little pots that fit in your windowsill! What could be more perfect?
9. Copper Measuring Spoons and Cups $16- copper is gorgeous, functional and naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. I could see these fitting perfectly in someones stocking.
10. Paderno Spiralizer 3-Blade $40 (not pictured)- eating veggies in place of pasta? It doesn’t get much healthier than that. If you’re looking for good recipes, check out this site. Oh, and this one too.
What are your favorite tools for healthy cooking?

One day I’ll be able to afford a Vitamix… or maybe I’ll get it as a special Christmas present one year! But for now, my old trusty blender will do. I need to get myself a hand mixer; I’m pureeing all my soups in the blender and it’s a pain!
I always like looking at these gift guides from other bloggers! I like to see what other people use … haha maybe that makes me nosey??? :) Have a great weekend!!
One thing I want for healthy eating? A grill for outdoors. But of course, I need an outdoor area for that first. Great list!
Food processor! Next to my blender, my food processor is probably the appliance that I use the most. But I will say that having a good blender is an absolute life changer… especially for those of us smoothie-obsessed folk ;)
Great list! I want a spiralizer for Christmas. I am loving my food processor and grater lately. Makes recipes so much easier for baking.
I love love love my Vitamix! It was a birthday present 4 years ago and I STILL use it all the time! :)
Those copper measuring spoons would be awesome! I’m putting those on my wishlist :)
Hi!! Ahh, I’ve been away from commenting/blog reading far too long!
Love this post and all of your choices though!!! I’m in the running for a new food processor AND a waffle maker. We might have to move in the new year, so I’m just waiting it out and will make the plunge then. My #1 “can’t live without” item at the moment is definitely my blender :)
WAFFLE MAKER!! That is EXACTLY what I want but I wouldn’t even make “waffles” with it!!! :D :D
YES to the immersion blender! I use mine alll the time!
