Vino de Mayo + Noonday Style

Hey there! How was your weekend? Bueno?

Mine was super busy, but a ton of fun!

On Saturday, we went on an 11 mile hike which I will be sure to post pictures of because it was incredibly beautiful. Waterfalls? Um, yeah…

Sunday started early in the kitchen with lots of food prep, then later on in the day we decided to celebrate Cinco Vino de Mayo and took a drive to Wente Vineyards to do a lot of little wine tasting.

Wente holds a special place for Brandon and I because we met while working at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, where we both learned about Wente and what excellent wine they produce.

As you can imagine, it is a perfect way for us to spend a romantic evening together, reminiscing our younger years.

The hills have been lusciously green for the past few months but it seems like overnight they have turned yellow in preparation for the dry, warm summer.

Wente Vineyard’s property is absolutely gorgeous and we had a great time just walking around and taking in the scenery.

Lucky for us, the weather cooled off this weekend and made for a perfect evening, sipping wine outdoors in the California sun.

After spending about an hour in the fresh air, we snagged a seat at the bar for a small bite to eat before heading home.

It was a great way to relax and enjoy a Sunday evening together.

I was also really excited to wear my new jewelry that I got in the mail from the Noonday party I attended a few weeks ago.

I wore the Acai Ombre Necklace, created by artisans in Ecuador, which I thought complemented my black maxi dress perfectly.

I also wore the Very Versatile Bracelet, which I adore.

Not only is this bracelet unique and pretty, but it is made from old war weapons in Ethiopia which women there have used to create gorgeous jewelry that helps them pay for medication and feed their families.

In addition to the bracelet and necklace, I also got this scarf that is made in Guatemala…

along with a pair of earrings that were on backorder and still have to be shipped to me.

I have to admit, it’s a good feeling knowing that my purchases are going towards a good cause. It doesn’t hurt that the items are super cute either!

Well, that about wraps it up for me! Have a great Monday and I’ll see you again soon! Smile

Did you celebrate Cinco de Mayo this weekend?
